"Clowns to the Left of me, Jokers to the Right"

The Clown, Joshua Gross--------Michael Reese--------The Joker, Mark Sanford

As the song goes, "I got the feeling that something ain't right ... Clowns to the left of me. Jokers to the right. Here I am, stuck in the middle with you." That's the feeling I get everyday as I listen to The Body Politic (Joshua Gross)/SCC4G and Mark Sanford/Karen Floyd.

The whole state of South Carolina must feel like they are stuck in the middle as Sanford/Floyd plays the jokers on one side, and The Body Politic/SCC4G plays the clowns on the other, I know I feel stuck. The Body Politic/SCC4G are either crazy, or don't realize how crazy Mark Sanford and Karen Floyd are! Either The Body Politic/SCC4G think that they can help accomplish one of the biggest con-artists jobs ever in SC Politics, or either they amazingly somehow believe that Karen Floyd is qualified for SC Spt. of Education and that Mark Sanford is actually a good Governor! (Time Magazine)

The Body Politic just recently stated this when referring to me, "As to the nature of the comments you make about Karen/SCRG/Sanford, etc..., again, why would we listen and give credence to the son of a Democrat Senator trying to come up with moonbat theories about our party's politics?"------------This is only the 189th irrational comment that he has made toward Democrats over the last few weeks. So tell me, just because I pick Bob Staton over Karen Floyd because of these reasons: Karen Floyd is not qualified, Karen Floyd is a quitter, Karen Floyd is uncredible, and Karen Floyd is only using this race as a stepping stone to get to the Governor's Mansion , and just because I point out all of the critical downfalls of Gov. Mark Sanford: Dumb Mistakes, Laziness , and No Common Sense, in your eyes these are all Moonbat Theories?

The fact that we are having a serious discussion right now determining whether or not Mark Sanford is a reasonable/smart Governor and determining whether or not Karen Floyd is the right fit for Spt. of Education should sicken us to our core. Yet, some people are unfazed. With some of these very far right clowns to the left of us (The Body Politic/SCC4G) and Mark Sanford / Karen Floyd jokers to the right, I feel like we are all stuck in the middle together. No one might not be able to stop Mark Sanford and Karen Floyd from running for political office, but we can stop them from getting elected, I just wish The Body Politic/SCC4G would jump on board with the more common sense approach!

pssst...Michael... There is no difference in SC Club for Growth and SCRG. They are the same group (although not technically), run by the same national consultants. There is a reason why Randy Page was the person who was recruiting an Executive Director for the Club.

And Joshua, I love the "I'm SC Club for Growth." That heads gotten pretty big hasn't it?

Whats a moonbat theory?

____________ said...

Moonbat----- is a political epithet coined in 2002 by Perry de Havilland of Samizdata, a libertarian weblog. Contrary to some speculation, de Havilland has stated it was not originally a play on the last name of George Monbiot, a columnist for The Guardian, regardless of the fact he and Mr. Monbiot have appeared on the BBC together expressing politically opposed views. The term was originally rendered as 'Barking Moonbat', suggesting that certain issues seem to trigger a reflexive response from some people much like wolves howl at the moon (i.e. the term evokes the traditional association between the moon and insanity). It now enjoys great currency in the conservative and libertarian blogosphere as an all-purpose label for modern liberals (in the American sense of the word), war protestors, and other ideological opponents

Any news on a possible interview with Karen Floyd? What should we expect next from you?

Ray,
I've sent in a request, that Floyd camp is still being shady and have not even responded yet. I think I might have Kerry Wood on, I have the governor of Iowa on monday may 22nd, and I'm pretty sure Andre Bauer will do one next week!

he's bald. he's fat. he's one arrogant californian. he's Joshua Gross... the new breed of SC Republican.

Michael,
Another reason to add to your list of why Karen Floyd shouldn't be running for Super: http://scpie.org/FeatureArticle.asp?ArticleID=17

Uninformed. Period. One should have at least a 5th grade understanding of science and the scientific method before being allowed to run for Super.

And your joker? Here: http://www.sc-scied.org/EE/index.php/scied/comments/newswatch_on_wis_tv_sunday_january_29_2006/

Rodney,
Thanks for the info, I was actually on that website about a week or so ago. As far as intelligent design goes......I'm not saying I'm for it or against it, but I think its just another way the Repubs can cook up some "moral" legislation to try and appeal to the SC voters.

Kerry Wood recent update to stale, political website. At bit of variety contained within.

The polticians should use blogs more. They are easier for their staff members to update from the campaign trail than are websites.

Michael,

Not saying you are for it or against it? Hiding something Michael? :-)

By the way, Staton appears to be anti-evolution as well. Are Bob and Karen just saying this to get votes from a conservative SC public? Bob has publicly voted against sound science standards. Karen writes articles in full favor of this pseudo/junk science. This issue in itself doesn't make one unqualified for Super.. but it is certainly suspect.

It's like hiring a director for the hospital's maternity ward who believes in "storkism".

I'd like to know where Jim Rex stands.

Overall, I agree.. it's a wedge issue. I just wanted to call them out for it.

Thanks for the reply,
Rodney

Your well-established tooldom is definitely not in question.

So that you will finally shut the hell up about a couple of things:

1. Sanford endorsed Ken Wingate in 2004 for a State Senate election. You remember Wingate, he actually ran against Sanford in the 2002 Gubernatorial primary. If Ms. Floyd thought about it, so what!

2. Don't criticize Sanford's upbringing as one of privilege. Clearly you are without a clue as to what it is like to want or really have to work. Thanks to the Upstate Krispy Kreme Connection you have hardly lived the life of Oliver Twist. Or do you think average people go to Presidential Inauguarations?

3. School choice is about letting parents who cannot afford access to "private" or other schools, the funds to do so. Guess what, in other places, people living in poverty get to go to fantastic schools. I'll take you on anytime, anywhere on the issue.

4. Living in Columbia, I could not care less if there was a Children's Museum in Greenville. Because there is one in Columbia and Myrtle Beach, too. How many do we need? As for the Reedy River Walking Trail...that's called a boondoggle.

You are a self-righteous child of privilege - who concocts the most ludicrous reasons and purposes to think and feel things.

Congratulations on being born with a silver spoon in your mouth, but instead of personally attacking each and every person with whom you disagree, why don't you actually give me a reason to think about where you stand on an issue.

Now shove that in your i-Pod and smoke it.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. It doesn't take courage to throw a punch. It takes courage to take a punch. Nelson Mandela isn't a hero because he was the most vicious. Mahatma Gandhi didn't save his nation by being the most violent. Martin Luther King wasn't courageous because he was the most vengeful. All of these men had one thing in common - they knew how to take a punch ... and not punch back.

So taking all of this into consideration, and also taking into consideration that.....you dont even know me, I'll just leave it be.

By the way, Mr. Furious.....what a cute name that is!

Anonymous said...

You have little to nothing in common with the great men you mentioned.

Before you saint yourself, you throw punches everyday. Ridiculous, wild and errant punches. The only difference is that you are not confronting your targets - you are here and they wouldn't waste their time.

Know you? Funny. What do you really know about the punches you throw?

Feel free to actually make a point about any topic I brought up.

If you want me to cover the 1-4 questions/topics in order to make you shut up, then I will.

1. Its very obvious K. Floyd is running for Spt. of Ed only because she wants to be Governor, if you knew the things I know, and have talked to the people I have talked with, you would know this and......your okay with that?

2. When I posted my comment last night at 10:05, I had just got done working a college baseball game and afterwards went to KK to work as well ....... come down there sometime, you would laugh ur butt off watching the dear Senator and his son get dirty with sugar and grease all over their pants. We do it all the time.

3. Tell me hotshot part II, hows the school bus system going to work out exactly when we have school choice? Whats going to happen to our special ed classes? Also, It cost around $15,000 to send a kid to Sptg. Day school, you telling me if you receive $3500 to go towards that $15,000 that you still would be able to send your child?

4. We'll cover this in another session.

Please continue on drinking the Mark Sanford kool-aid. Theres a krispy kreme in downtown spartanburg, go check it out, try out our coffee because it obviously appears that you need to wake up!

1. It seems to me that you have some sort of vendetta out for Karen Floyd. Other than you think she is using this as a stepping stone to run for Governor, you really don't add much more. I take it you don't support Senator Moore's quest for Governor then, since you think it is bad to run for one office while being in another. I actually don't know Karen Floyd, and have no idea whether I will vote for her or one of the other candidate's running.

2. How quaint of you to take time out of your busy Saturday night to go down to one of the Kreme's and rub elbows with us common folk. Good for you. It is funny that every other child of privilege does not get a free pass here - I wonder if you really know what they do in their spare time? I know the answer, so save the typing.

3. Here is where we throw out the most expensive school you know of and use that as the example of how poor children won't really get an education. Nice, but what is the average cost of a private school in South Carolina? It's not $15K or even $10K - you know, like it cost to go to one of South Carolina's public schools. Do we really believe that parents wouldn't actually do anything to make sure that their children could go to a better school if they wanted to? Amazingly enough, Richland School District Two allows for parents to pick the school of their choice, as long as they provide transportation to the school. Get this, a public school choice program right here in South Carolina. I anxiously await your condemnation of this abhorrent notion.

This - I am quite sure - will be where you and I lock horns for some time to come.

Kool-aid? Oh yeah! We have never made that a secret. Why? Because this party is under attack from within and without. I do believe in limited government. I do believe in tax cuts. I do believe in school choice. Call me a classic liberal. Call me whatever you want.

We remain Semper Libertas!

Let me speak to the personal side.

I appreciate what you do with this site. You are not afraid to throw it out there and see what pops up.

You have taken it to another step with the podcasts, and I applaud that.

However, we believe strongly in certain things and there seems to be a small universe of people who either believe it or vocalize it.

Without us, though, you are simply shouting into an echo chamber.

rodney,

Here's another reason to be concerned about ID being taught in schools.....

Judge Orders God To Break Up Into Smaller Dieties

Saturday 01. 2006
http://www.theonion.com/
content/node/46679

ID takes a monotheistic approach to our existence. What's to prevent someone from coming up with a theory, logic, methodology, and data that states that the world is so complex that it could not have been created by a single, Intelligent Designer but was created by an Intelligent Design Team (IDT) (e.g., Greek Mythology...they had gods for everything).

What's to keep IDT proponents from using the same logic, methodology, and data that ID propenents use, and simply claim that a re-examination of the same ID data supports not ID but IDT?

All you need it the right court case and the right lawyer to have some judge rule that IDT must be also taught in schools.

Those who push for ID in the classroom would be aghast at the idea of IDT being taught to their children, for the same reason that people object to ID.....it's religion.

Science deals strictly with naturally occurring phenomema. ID implies the existence of something supernatural. The supernatural is beyond the scope of science. If you are teaching about the supernatural then you are not teaching science.

....and don't think that someone won't try to inject IDT into the classroom.

The problem with this whole debate is not whether Darwinian evolution or the Bible is the correct basis for the Theory of How-The-Heck-We-Came-To-Be-As-We-Are. The real issue is that entirely too many children lack the literary competency to read the works of Darwin, the Bible, or any other book of English text. It has been a big distraction that has hurt education and diverted attention away from what's truly important. If your child is going to fail and drop out of school, fail to get a good job, and possibly live in poverty, then this whole subject is just not that important.

WWJD? Jesus would certainly not propogate such a harmful debate that distracts our legislators and educators away from the task of educating children. Those who are pushing ID without consideration of how it impedes true education reform are selfish and are simply not good Christians.

"It's like hiring a director for the hospital's maternity ward who believes in "storkism"."

LOL...good one Rodney.

Although you probably shouldn't give them any more totally ridiculous stuff to add to their platform and force on the rest of us as truths.

I mean, c'mon...if we tell kids they come from the stork it's another realistic way we can avoid dealing with sex education in our state.
