What If All The Democrats In The Senate and All The Republicans In The Senate Do What Verne Smith Did

Of all the Senators here in South Carolina who read the Sen. Verne Smith endorsing Sen. Tommy Moore article from the Greenville News , I wonder how many of them, after reading it, did not cheer? Of all the Senators, besides Greg Ryberg, Chip Campsen, and Kevin Bryant, was there anyone who thought, "Wow, that's seems like a bad idea. I wouldn't want to do that?" I can guarantee you almost all of the Senators loved it! Why don't all the Democrats in the Senate, and all the Republicans in the Senate aggresively come out and endorse Tommy Moore? There is no excuse for not taking this guy on. What are they afraid of? They have the facts on their side, they have the unemployment numbers on their side, and they have the uncaring vetoes on their side. With their support towards Sen. Tommy Moore, 41 days left - discount Verne Smith, Greg Ryberg, Chip Campsen, Tommy Moore, and Kevin Bryant, we have 41 Senators out there who do not like Sanford. That's 1 Senator a day, everyday from now to the election who could come out and endorse Tommy Moore! I guarantee you Sanford would lose, and they wouldn't have to worry about a retaliation from him. My gosh, they should be crushing Sanford like this on a daily basis, so why aren't they? Help Tommy Moore put this guy away so South Carolina can move forward with progress ........ instead of backwards.

No matter what
Mark Sanford's little undercover sidekick says about it in his blog, Sen. Verne Smith's endorsement will help Tommy Moore. Now that Sen. Smith has led the way, Senators, don't be afraid, please pick up on his cue. In fact, as Marsellus Wallace would say in Pulp Fiction, "let's pick up a lead pipe and a blowtorch and let's go to work on this guy!"

You’re so wrong it's not even funny. If 41 senators come out and endorse Moore here is what the Moore campaign will have:

1. A proven tax and spend liberal candidate.
2. A campaign that has continuously proven it is more interested in attacking Sanford than it is on talking about the real issues facing SC.
3. 41 senators that would just create more partisan bickering and divide in the SC senate.
4. Total chaos as a result of all of the above.

Now, if that's what you want go ahead and hope for the senatorial endorsements, however if you want real reform like Sanford has shown he is capable of(because he has a backbone) then you sure as heck better hope the RINO's like granddaddy Verne don't do anything accept retire.

Hey Reese-
Andy Thomas has been talking about the new poll numbers out today. I think it's still early and this will fluctuate both ways but at least it's good press for today...

A new Survey South Carolina poll shows the race for governor had tightened up in recent days.

The Survey South Carolina poll was conducted between September 26 and September 28.

It shows Republican incumbent Mark Sanford leading Democratic challenger Tommy Moore 50 to 46 percent. Eight days earlier, that margin was 54 to 41 percent. Sanford and Moore are the overwhelming choice among voters in their own parties, but Sanford maintains a five percentage point lead among independents.

He-Man Will Folks may like to make fun of old men on their death bed like Verne Smith and WWII heroes like Gen. Grady Patterson, but I don't think he'd actually hit one of them. So far, his criminal record indicates he only hits women.

Now it turns out Will Folks has been posting his infantile blogs while on the payroll of Thomas Ravenel. Ravenel must be proud: he has one strategist in Rod Shealy who has been convicted of election fraud and a second strategist Will Folks who has been convicted of beating women. You mix in the fact that at 43, Ravenel is unmarried, has no children, and spends his leisure time playing on MySpace.com with his friend Andre Bauer, you have to ask where are the grown-ups?

I was actually in the Senate chamber when Sen. Moore approached the front, yelling and screaming at then Lt. Gov. Bob Peeler. The Sergeant at Arms had to push him out of the chamber. He's lucky that Harvey wasn't in the room (Bob's brother). This was back in ’98 or ’99 during a filibuster.

Why doesn't the rest of the Senate just back Moore, you ask? Because they know him and the temper that he has. No matter how fed up some of these guys are with Sanford, they have all dealt more closely and intimately with Moore.
